g-company goes Africa

g-company goes Africa

Many in the Netherlands are fortunately blessed with a job and therefore a steady income. You cannot say this about a large part of the almost one billion people in Africa. A continent that contains the world's longest river and largest desert.

Many struggle day in and day out for their basic needs such as a meal for the children and a roof over their heads.

This while here in the Netherlands we talk with many relations about CRM, social media and working together in the Cloud.

How cool would it be if we could use our expertise and products to make an impact in Africa?

That's exactly what g-company is doing as a Preferred Partner of Salesforce.org.

At the bottom of the pyramid, we started in Africa to use Salesforce as a platform to support a large international project. This project has been set up in nine African countries and aims to incorporate 1.15 million small farmers and 4,000 other SMEs into about 500 viable agribusiness clusters. These clusters in turn supply food to regional, national and local markets and the least fortunate, also known as base-of-the-pyramid (BoP) consumers. g-company set up a Salesforce pilot environment in Ghana in a short time in March 2014. An intensive project with some of our consultants that delivered a working Salesforce environment within a week.

The pilot was such a success that the client has now decided to deploy Salesforce over the next three years for the entire project in 9 countries! Salesforce will be used for elements such as CRM, sales, cluster development, integration, management dashboards, collaboration (Chatter) and Granting. To be continued!
