Hey, hola and hello!
My name is Astrid, and on March 1st I joined the Belgian g-company team as an admin & marketing assistant.
I come from a background of applied linguistics, graduating as a translator in 2016, and officially earning my degree as an interpreter English-Spanish last year. But I am more than just words and talk. In my spare time I like to paint, pixel and illustrate. And what started as a creative outlet, quickly turned into freelancing, something I have been doing for a couple of years now.
Now, by starting with g-company, I can combine the best of both worlds in a dynamic work-environment with kick-ass colleagues. What more can a recent graduate ask for?
As is always the case, the first days were a whirlwind of introductions, information and getting started, step by step. I learned about the hidden features in GMail (there is so much more than meets the eye at first glance), received an introduction to Salesforce and Mailmerge, and was even entrusted with the task of translating the entire website from Dutch to English. So far, the work is varied, challenging, and most importantly: extremely interesting.
And the main takeaway after the first days of diving in head-first into Google and everything it has to offer? I had barely scratched the surface, before getting started here. But that just means I have even more exciting new things to discover, and I honestly believe it is going to be a very interesting journey.
