Quick introduction: Renate de Jong

“Marketing automation provides tremendous opportunities for non-profits!”

Hi!

Exactly one year ago, I started working with g-company. So, it’s about time I introduce myself, don’t you think?

My name is Renate de Jong, I’m 43 and I live in Utrecht, together with my boyfriend and our children. Throughout my career, the red thread has always been that I “want to contribute to a better world“. It’s a comprehensive topic, I know. But so is my resume: from policy maker at Utrecht province, to intermediary at Randstad, to marketer at the development agency VSO.

At g-company, I got to know kindred spirits, which made me join the team as a new entrepreneur. “You can’t do it alone, you have to work together”, as a legendary footballer once said. I’m not doing myself much justice with that, of course, but I see the added value of working together with a group of professionals, who all share a common mission.

My mission is to help non-profits make more of an impact, by cleverly using technology. Although I haven’t worked in technology before, I’ve always had an affinity with it, as a user. Which means I have a strong opinion on it. At my last employer before g-company, I learned how to work with Salesforce.

And that to me is my added value: because I have worked at a non-profit for years, I am familiar with the environment, know the challenges you face, and know the added value of a solid and simultaneously innovative system. For non-profits, big and small.

What gets me out of bed in the morning? Just a few of the projects I’m working on this week: I support the Ronald McDonald Kinderfonds one day per week, with Salesforce daily usage, I provide end-user training for a client who has recently implemented Salesforce, and I am writing a proposition for a community centre for psychiatric patients, that wants to start working with Salesforce.

Within the team, my focus is on marketing automation with Pardot (a Salesforce tool). I see tremendous opportunities for non-profits to attract and retain more donors and volunteers. To move away from two enormous (expensive! time consuming!) campaigns, towards a constant dialogue with one another. To go from a one size fits all approach, to tailored newsletters which provide the right content at the right time. This can be a lot to tackle for your organization. Start small, and make choices with a grand goal in mind. But think of the footballer, too: “You can’t do it alone, you have to work together.”

So give me a call, I’d love to brainstorm with you!

Warm regards,

Renate de Jong
