HVZ Fluvia: safety and flexibility with Google Workspace
The Fluvia emergency zone relies on many volunteers to perform their fire brigade services. Only a small number of professional firefighters and women use business IT licenses, making sharing information with personal accounts common practice.
For that reason and because fire service information must remain within the organization, they were looking for an alternative to their collaboration tools.
After a long and well-considered process, HVZ Fluvia chose to move to Google Workspace with the support of g-company. The g-company consultants then helped them secure data scattered across private accounts by resolving the conflicting accounts issue and moving this information to a Google Workspace configuration.
The workloads were moved to Google apps on mobile devices and Chrome OS for PC users, to meet their need for more agility and to support HVZ Fluvia during the pandemic.
HVZ Fluvia can now offer secure web-based workplaces, and has control over the data within their domain.
The IT support can now be tailored to what is really needed and adds functional productivity to the end users instead of maintaining and supporting local hardware and software.
The next step
The next step in the field of IT innovation will be the development of an intranet, based on Google Sites, plus the implementation of Google Currents within the HVZ Fluvia organization. In addition, the necessary training will have to be provided.
