Aafje: new Chromebooks enhance the quality of healthcare
Quality of healthcare and services is priority at Aafje. The bar is set high regarding clients, employees and volunteers.
And they do well: in 2019, they were chosen to be the best employer. To maintain this position is innovation crucial.
That's why Aafje is making huge steps in their innovation process, by offering so-called web-based workspaces to all 6.500 employees.
In order to facilitate this, Aafje has opted for the technology of Google Cloud. Together with Google Cloud Premier partner g-company, Aafje will ditch the legacy software, and their IT infrastructure will be much more scalable and more secure. Furthermore, employees are now able to work everywhere and don't have to depend on a single device.
Initially, the process will be to mail & agenda. Thereafter the file server will be migrated to Google Drive. Also, the rest of the architecture will be transferred to the Google Cloud Platform. Moreover, Chromebooks are already in use.
Peter Ploegsma, board member of Aafje: "Our decision for Google is mostly based on a more easy and simple workflow. Our employees had the opportunity to indicate what they found important, for instance Single Sign On, cooperating online in documents, searching easier and faster - mostly regarding intranet - and easier working from home. Google was a good fit for us. We have total confidence in the cooperation with g-company to deploy these big changes successfully."
David Saris, founder and managing partner g-company: "We are very proud that Aafje has opted for g-company. It is an honour that we are in the position where we can help a great healthcare provider like Aafje by empowering them with cloud technology."
